On Monday, the Abiding Presence Lutheran Church campus was filled with excited voices and eager hearts as we kicked off Vacation Bible School. Participants, volunteers, and staff came together to explore one of the most powerful stories in the Bible: Jesus washing his disciples’ feet.
The youth learned about this remarkable act of service and were amazed to discover that Jesus didn’t merely talk about love; he demonstrated it through his actions. He humbled himself, got down on his knees, rolled up his sleeves, and served others with his own hands.
Through interactive activities, discussions, and songs, participants found that understanding Jesus’ love is not complicated. We simply need to observe how he lived. He welcomed everyone, served others without expecting anything in return, and showed kindness to those whom others might overlook.
