Youth ministry at Abiding Presence focuses on building compassionate young people through learning, service, and fellowship and provides a foundation for healthy relationships and a lifelong engagement with church community.
Middle and High School Students gather for spirited exploration of the foundations of our faith. Come find your place in God’s story and learn ways to live faithfully through these developmental years.
Middle School
6th – 8th grade students learn the foundations of the Lutheran faith at weekly gatherings. Through a variety of learning, service, and fun activities they prepare to affirm their Baptism through the Rite of Confirmation in their 8th grade year.
Weekend retreats and a week long summer camp at Lutheran Camp Chrysalis provide opportunities to build their relationships with God and with each other and learn ways to live out their faith in the larger community. Middle school youth attend the Synod Junior High Youth Gathering annually.
High School
9th – 12th grade students meet weekly for “BUZZ Session.” In this time together they discuss a current event, special study topic, or social challenge. The group sometimes goes out for dinner together and often shares pizza in the youth room.
Our senior high students participate in service projects throughout the year and travel together for a summer mission trip to serve in various places of need. They attend the Synod High School Youth Gathering each December, and they have participated in the National Youth Gathering.
