The annual weekend of service on September 6-7 will include six projects open to everyone, both on and off campus.
September 6 Service Projects | September 7 Service Projects
Off-campus service projects on September 6
Two exciting off-campus opportunities are available on September 6, God’s Work Our Hands Day! Take advantage of this incredible chance to serve others and make a difference! Registration is required to participate in these service projects.
Texas Ramp Project

The Texas Ramp Project builds wheelchair ramps for individuals who cannot leave their homes. The build on September 6 is the perfect opportunity for 6 to 10 first-time volunteers to spend a couple of hours contributing to this noble cause by building a ramp for someone in need.
Those interested in participating in this service project can register by clicking here or in the narthex. For more information about this and other upcoming ramp builds, contact Spike Hubenak at spikehube@sbcglobal.net.
Children’s Bereavement Center
We will support our mission partner, the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas at 205 W Olmos Drive, from 9 to 11:00 am on September 6 by cleaning their therapy rooms.
We are looking for 20 to 25 volunteers, and the CBCST will provide all the cleaning materials and a list of tasks for each room. Children aged 6 and above are welcome. There will be an age-appropriate project for younger children who cannot clean.
Those interested in participating in this service project can register by clicking here or in the narthex.
On-campus service projects on September 7
All are welcome to gather in the gym following the late worship service on September 7 to participate in five exciting on-campus service projects for God’s Work Our Hands. Click here to register for the service projects in the gym.
Lutheran World Relief
Help others worldwide by assembling health and school kits for Lutheran World Relief, using the generous donations received in July.
Haven for Hope

All are welcome to bake and bag cookies for Haven for Hope residents. During September, this ministry is looking for donations of 19-oz lemonade drink mix for use during visits on the third Sunday of each month. Please drop off your donations in the narthex.
Meals on Wheels – Animeals

Pets need our help as well. We need donated dry cat and dog food bags for the Meals on Wheels service project. Please drop off your donations in the narthex. The donated food will be bagged in the gym on God’s Work Our Hands Day.
Mission Partner Cards
Christmas is a couple of months away. What a blessing it is to send a card while helping others. Meet in the gym and help create unique cards for our mission partners.
