Special Giving

Your gifts can have lasting impact as expressions of sympathy for the loss of a special person or in celebration of happy occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, retirement, graduation, a get well wish, are just some of the times to show you care.

Gifts to the Memorial Fund often provide new equipment or resources for worship, education or the facility and enable the church to accomplish ministry goals not accounted for in the operating budget. Memorial Funds are generally used within a short time frame for items with special meaning or lasting value. The Memorial Fund Committee manages and prioritizes the use of funds and acknowledges all gifts received to the persons designated by the donor.
The Abiding Presence Mission Endowment Fund provides an avenue for making charitable gifts that become a permanent endowment for financial support and a living memorial—a gift that keeps on giving. The Endowment Fund supports mission work at home and around the world, above and beyond programs supported through regular offerings.  Lutheran Foundation of the Southwest provides investment management services and oversees the annual distribution. The APLC Mission Endowment Fund Committee determines the recipients of the annual distribution according to established guidelines.
Let the last gifts you give tell the story of your family and spiritual values. Legacy, or planned giving is a way to specify your desires to provide for family members while remembering the church and other ministries as well. Please consider including Abiding Presence in your estate plans in consultation with your legal and financial advisors.
