January in the United States is National Blood Donor Month. It acknowledges the important role of blood donors and promotes the significance of donating blood to save lives. It encourages people to contribute to this life-saving endeavor.
During the winter, there are fewer donations and a higher risk of blood shortages due to holiday celebrations, bad weather, and sickness.
Since January 1970, this annual campaign has been a constant reminder to inspire new donors and honor those who have contributed in the past and present.
Did you know your support can make a difference and save up to three lives? If you haven’t donated yet, don’t worry, it’s a simple and painless process.
Abiding Presence hosts a blood drive every quarter, and the next blood drive is Sunday, Feb. 11, from 8 am to 12 pm in the Gym. Join us in this noble cause and help us make a positive impact today!
