Abiding Presence Lutheran Church has reached an incredible milestone! Through our partnership with Water to Thrive, we’ve now funded our tenth well, bringing life-changing access to clean water for communities across East Africa.
The newest well, called Abitibit, serves as a powerful example of what we can accomplish together. Located in the eastern region of Bukedea, this rehabilitated borehole now provides safe, clean water to over 500 community members every single day. The well is part of a larger network of ten wells that collectively serve more than 5,200 people across the region.

The impact of clean water reaches far beyond quenching thirst. When families have reliable access to safe water close to home, everything changes. Children who once spent hours walking to distant water sources can now focus on their education and play. Women and girls, who traditionally carry the responsibility of water collection, gain precious time for school, work, and community involvement.
This transformation creates a ripple effect throughout entire communities. More girls stay in school and pursue their dreams. Women experience greater safety and independence. Families spend less money on medical treatment for waterborne illnesses, allowing them to invest in other opportunities. Children grow up healthier and stronger, ready to build bright futures.
Thank you for making this milestone possible. Your generosity and commitment demonstrate the incredible things we can achieve when we work together. The families in Bukedea and communities across East Africa are living proof that clean water truly changes everything.
