The Exponential Power of Sharing
Jesus sent his disciples out in pairs to spread his message. This seemingly small act demonstrates the power of exponential growth. When one person shares God’s love with two others, and those two each share with two more, the message spreads quickly. This concept, similar to exponential growth in mathematics, shows how a small start can lead to widespread change. The Gospel provides examples of Jesus teaching this principle
- Jesus in his hometown: Despite rejection, Jesus didn’t dwell on it. Instead, he focused on expanding his ministry elsewhere.
- Sending out the disciples: Jesus empowered his followers to go out and share his message, heal people, and teach others.
The Priesthood of All Believers
Martin Luther taught that all believers are part of the “priesthood of all believers.” This means every person of faith has the authority to share God’s love, not just ordained clergy. We are all called to be like the disciples Jesus sent out – sharing the gospel, healing, and teaching in our daily lives.”
How to Share God’s Love

- Be persistent: If people don’t listen in one place, move on to the next without holding grudges.
- Remember your authority comes from Jesus: We’re not acting on our own power, but through Christ’s.
- Focus on planting seeds: Our job is to share the message; how it grows is up to God.

Sharing God’s love is not a solo mission. It’s about building a community of believers who work together to spread the message. This collaborative approach allows the faith to grow more widely and abundantly.
