Families with children from infants to fifth graders are encouraged to be involved in the many opportunities at Abiding Presence to learn and grow together guiding the youngest among us toward a heart for God.
Nursery Care
Children – newborn through age 4 – are welcome in our nursery area during worship and special congregational events. Trained caregivers offer a loving and safe environment for our little ones to experience God’s love.
K-1-2 Bible Rookies
Children and families discover stories of our faith listening to a story teller, making a craft, or playing a game. These monthly family events help young ones experience church as a fun place to learn just how much Jesus loves us all.
3-4-5 Bible Scholars
This group learns the foundations of our faith learning the words to The Lord’s Prayer, the Apostle’s Creed, and other components of the liturgy helping them to better participate in worship. The monthly gathering is a time for growing in faith and building relationships with others in the church community.
First Communion Instruction
When we say, “All are Welcome,” it means everyone is welcome at the Lord’s table, even young ones. Children who are ready to receive communion for the first time should attend this one time class, with their parents. Offered in the spring and fall each year, watch for announcements.
Cherub Choir
Children love to sing. Learning simple songs about God’s love provides children with a beginning vocabulary to share God’s love with others. Singing as a group provides an opportunity to make new friends and start forming relationships with their bigger church family. For ages 3 through 1st grade, Cherubs meet weekly through the school year.
Chapel Choir
Older children begin to explore music reading and singing skills along with group etiquette through music that is both fun and challenging – singing, ringing handchimes, and rhythm instruments. Learning the fundamentals of our Christian faith through song, Chapel Choir offers the foundation for a lifetime of church involvement and musical enjoyment. For 2nd – 5th grade students, the group meets weekly through the school year.
