God calls us to be generous givers. The Bible teaches that God has called every believer to give regularly, generously, cheerfully, and in proportion to what he or she has been given.
Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
Your financial giving supports the ongoing ministry and mission of Abiding Presence in many ways:
- Worship opportunities for over 400 people every week
- Sunday School, Bible study groups, Youth and Music programs, camps and retreats for youth and adults
- Operating costs for facilities and staff
- Mission and ministry in our Southwest Texas Synod and globally through the work of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
Ways to Give
As an act of worship, offerings in the form of cash and checks are received during each worship service.
Contributions may be mailed to our office: Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 14700 San Pedro Ave. San Antonio, TX 78232.

Forgot your cash or checkbook? Try the Giving Kiosk located at the Welcome Center. It’s an easy way to make a donation using your debit or credit card. You can even print a receipt to place in the offering plate during worship.
OnLine / Automated Giving
Many people prefer the efficiency of electronic transactions. Abiding Presence offers a private and secure system for online giving. On line you can:
- Give any amount you choose.
- Give using your checking account, debit card, or credit card.
- Give just once or set up a regular weekly or monthly giving schedule
- Designate your giving to the general fund, a mission partner, or special project.
Your gifts can have lasting impact as expressions of sympathy for the loss of a special person or in celebration of happy occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, retirement, graduation, a get well wish, are just some of the times to show you care.
Memorial and Honor Giving
Gifts to the Memorial Fund often provide new equipment or resources for worship, education or the facility and enable the church to accomplish ministry goals not accounted for in the operating budget. Memorial Funds are generally used within a short time frame for items with special meaning or lasting value. The Memorial Fund Committee manages and prioritizes the use of funds and acknowledges all gifts received to the persons designated by the donor.
The Abiding Presence Mission Endowment Fund provides an avenue for making charitable gifts that become a permanent endowment for financial support and a living memorial—a gift that keeps on giving. The Endowment Fund supports mission work at home and around the world, above and beyond programs supported through regular offerings. Lutheran Foundation of the Southwest provides investment management services and oversees the annual distribution. The APLC Mission Endowment Fund Committee determines the recipients of the annual distribution according to established guidelines.
Let the last gifts you give tell the story of your family and spiritual values. Planned giving is a way to specify your desires to provide for family members while remembering the church as well. Planned gifts through an estate can include a simple bequest in your will, life insurance, appreciated stocks, trusts, and much more. Please consider including Abiding Presence in your estate plans in consultation with your legal and financial advisors.
Should you desire information regarding the contribution of stock, assistance with estate planning ideas or further information on biblical stewardship, please contact the church office.
