ELCA congregations across the country celebrate the first Sunday of September as God’s Work Our Hands Day of Service. Lutherans of all ages reach out to serve their communities with God’s love.
Here in the Alamo City ELCA congregations expanded the “Day” of Service into a “Week” of loving labor, beginning (appropriately!) on Labor Day, September 1st and continuing through Sunday, September 7th.
Congregations of the Alamo Conference came together to serve all across our city. Opportunities to serve included work at the food bank and in the community garden, serving meals and helping with childcare, providing transportation, and clean up projects of many kinds.
Abiding Presence had over 150 hands serving in dozens of ways all around town.
