REFORMATION 500 Concert Series Hymn Festival

17 Sep 2017 | 04:00 pm - 05:30 pm

Ref lutherMartin Luther Hymn Festival

Continuing our series of concerts in honor of the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation, come join us in welcoming Dr. Timothy Olsen, the Kenan Professor of Organ at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Associate Professor of Organ at Salem College as special guest director.

Martin Luther was known as a great theologian, teacher, and preacher, but he also enjoyed singing tenor and playing the lute. He took many Latin chants from the Catholic Mass and turned them into German chorales for use in the congregations he served. Come and sing some of the great hymns of Martin Luther including “A Mighty Fortress.”

This event is free and open to the public. Invite your friends and neighbors.  All are welcome.
